Tricia is a Director with Pitcher Partners Perth Consultancy practice. She is a Chartered Accountant, CPA, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and Associate of The Tax Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Actg, Econ and Law) from University of Queensland and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA. She is a licensed public practitioner, registered tax and ASIC agent. Prior to joining Pitcher Partners, she was a partner of a chartered accounting firm, where she specialised in strategic planning, business optimisation, corporate structures and compliance services.
Prior to public practice, Tricia held a number of senior financial and commercial roles within BHP. BHP, a dual listed company (DLC), trades through BHP Billiton Limited on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and BHP Billiton plc on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
Tricia has extensive experience working on global mergers and acquisitions across Australia, North America, South America, South Africa and the United Kingdom. She led BHP’s due diligence of the base metals business on the merger with Billiton and was BHP Iron Ore accounting and finance lead for the proposed $116bn iron ore Production Joint Venture with Rio Tinto and subsequently BHP’s $735m acquisition of Leighton’s Henry Walker Eltin assets and resources.
Between 2012-14 Tricia was PMO and Strategy Manager of the 1SAP program that focused on standardised processes, systems and performance transparency across the iron-ore functions and operational supply chain. In this role she was responsible for the provision of project management office, financial controls and procurement, risk management, HR and contractor engagement services to support the effective delivery of the 1SAP program of work. From 2015, as a member of the BHP Iron Ore’s Information Systems leadership team, she defined and implemented processes and practices to plan, prioritise and monitor the portfolio of projects and deliver two year financial and workforce plans. As part of BHP’s transformation and improvement program she coordinated a number of initiatives to optimise the engagement of contractors and professional agencies.
With extensive experience in accounting and compliance, investment evaluation, project management, risk management and business transformation, Tricia is driven to assist clients to maximise the value of their business.
While delivering outcomes, Tricia’s focus is on creating a culture which engages, empowers and challenges personnel to deliver exceptional results. She has a proven ability to analyse and assess business acquisition, divestment and investments, negotiate with parties and present recommendations to senior executives to allow informed decision making. In addition, she has an ability to drive continuous improvement and value realization through a deep understanding of business drivers and performance metrics.
