Who is the Melbourne Vacation Program applicable for?
The Melbourne Vacation Program is for students in their penultimate year of study, and is designed to provide experience in a professional services environment.
What will you experience in the Melbourne Vacation Program?
The Pitcher Partners’ Melbourne Vacation Program provides practical hands-on experience, with the opportunity to work on real client matters. It also offers a range of technical and personal learning opportunities including:
- Personal branding workshops
- Wellbeing and mindfulness sessions
- Volunteering shifts
Access the opportunity to attend career information sessions, networking and both professional and personal development sessions, including technical training.
Widen your professional network and broaden your skills and experience before you graduate through regular interaction with partners and senior managers, with support from your program manager, direct manager and program buddy.
The program is held during the summer period, running between November and February with a break for the festive season. Applications for the summer Vacation Program open in July.

How do I apply or express interest in the Melbourne Vacation Program?
Applications for the Melbourne Vacation Program open in July each year.
The recruitment process will consist of:
Stage 1: Online application submission
The online application covers your work experience, leadership and team experience, extra-curricular activities, academic results, eligibility to work and more.
Stage 2: Online assessment
This is a timed interactive online assessment designed to determine your fit with Pitcher Partners, while providing a snapshot of the firm. The assessment encompasses a variety of multiple-choice and free-text responses. No audio is required.
Stage 3: Phone interview
Undertake a phone interview with an early-careers representative to discuss your application in further detail.
Stage 4: Assessment Centre
The Assessment Centre provides further insight into life at Pitcher Partners through a short interactive information session, group activity and individual interview. Enjoy an opportunity to network and meet members of the Pitcher Partners family.
Stage 5: Individual interview
During this step, you will undertake a behavioural-based interview with representatives of the practice group you have progressed with.
Stage 6: Offer
Applications take time to process and a representative of the recruitment team will be in touch with you in due course. Regardless of whether you’re successful, you will be provided with feedback regarding your application.
